"FLAGs: Drivers of Green Growth in European Fisheries Areas”

In Europe, the “green” economy is increasingly seen as a source of opportunities for transforming the current economic context. The environmental and natural resources of fisheries areas have vast potential for supporting smart and inclusive local development, which is amongst the objectives of the Europe 2020 strategy.
 
The environmental capital of European fisheries areas will be at the heart of the next FARNET transnational seminar. The event will focus on the role of FLAGs, and the opportunities that Axis 4 of the EFF provides for turning environmental and natural resources of fisheries areas into drivers of sustainable local development.
 
By showcasing projects and working methods, as well as providing exchange and networking opportunities amongst FLAGs and European environmental stakeholders, this event will help FLAGs to play a key role in enhancing and mobilizing the full potential of their area’s environmental capital.
 
The registration process for this event will be opened in early March, but we already invite you to mark these dates in your agenda.
